- More context for photos
- Photo suggestions require confirmation by default. With OS 27 and a ready local Apple model, the subject, EXIF capture date and an optional approximate place can contribute to the name. Automatic photo processing requires an explicit opt-in.
- Tags, folders and profiles
- Reuse rules and profiles for your filing system. Mac can watch folders while Naimly is open and write tags; iPhone and iPad keep your tag selection within the app.
- Results at a glance
- Automatic batches show old names and results side by side. A checkmark appears only after a successful Mac rename or creation of a mobile copy. Please review opens the individual decision.

Which files can Naimly read?
Text-based PDFs, scanned PDFs, DOCX, images with readable document text, TXT and Markdown. Up to 50 MB per file and the first ten PDF pages. macOS, iOS and iPadOS 27 and a ready Apple model also enable local photo analysis. EXIF metadata can add separate context for document images without forcing review on its own. Uncertain or shortened results and photo suggestions require review by default; you can optionally allow Automatic despite truncation or for photos.
Where does the place in a photo name come from?
If the photo contains GPS data and you enable the place component, Naimly finds the nearest listed GeoNames place within 20 km, offline. This is approximate context, not an address or a reliable municipal boundary. GPS coordinates are not passed to the AI model. With no matching place, the component is omitted.

Yes. Naimly is free on the App Store for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Use the download button on this page. AI features require a supported device, enabled Apple Intelligence and a downloaded model.
How does the automatic batch list work?
Add multiple files in Automatic mode. The list shows waiting, analysis, successful names and review cases. Please review opens the original preview, suggestion and Adjust. Confirming or skipping returns you to the list. Errors do not count as successful renames. Changing mode affects only newly added files.
What happens to originals, and what if something fails?
Mac renames in the original folder without overwriting another file. Undo reverses successful renames when the original path is free and the renamed file is unchanged. On iPhone and iPad, originals stay unchanged; a successful entry is a named copy to save or share. Errors stay visible. Retry supported files or skip them. Pause holds further steps; Stop cancels processing. Completed changes remain in place.
Where are tags and other options?
Adjust contains details and tag selection; All files opens the overview and batch tools. Pending tags do not block a confirmed filename. Mac can write tags and undo its own additions; mobile tag selections remain inside Naimly.
Can Naimly process folders and shared files?
Choose a folder and review the selection before starting. Mac offers a Finder Quick Action and optional folder watching while the app is running. On iPhone and iPad, add files through the share extension, then open Naimly. The share extension accepts up to 20 files and 100 MB per batch. Siri and Shortcuts provide additional entry points.
